**Job Summary**:
The benefits specialist is responsible for administering of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short
- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Work directly with Third Party Administrators (TPA) on all employee 401(k) inquiries and distributions
- Work with TPA in gathering data for ADP (average deferral percentage) & NDT (non-discrimination testing) and ensure all testing pass.
- Administer and work on ACA reporting, including, but not limited to the measurement period nnnnc9-nd 1095 mailings and filings with the vendor=
- Manage all IRS and DOL audits and gather required documents and information
- Work closely with 5500 auditors and ensure all reports are accurate
- Participate as a non-voting member of the fiduciary committee
- Administer employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
- Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
- Conduct weekly reporting and auditing of various contracts and programs.
- Assist in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process with the broker of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
- Assists with the open enrollment process.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Extensive knowledge of working with Unions and Health and Welfare plans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be an advance user with Microsoft Excel.
- Extensive knowledge with retirement plans and ADP/NDT testing.
- Extensive knowledge in ACA reporting, 5500 filing, and DOL/IRS audits.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Able to think outside the box to improve processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.

Education and Experience:

- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/HR/Business or related field of study.
- Two years’ experience in benefits administration.
