Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

**Global Inventory Manager**

The Global Inventory Manager will own Corning's OCS inventory strategy, planning processes, and optimization initiatives.

They will lead the Supply Chain organization and work closely with product line management, commercial, technology, engineering, and manufacturing leaders to ensure inventory objectives and customer service targets are achieved. The GIM will lead the creation, implementation, and improvement of the inventory strategy.

**Responsibilities**:

- Governance Framework Lead: Partnering with cross functional leaders to analyze and communicate the supply impact of strategic business decisions for optimal trade-off
- Engage in inventory management throughout the product life cycle enabling strategic decisions that prevent Slow Moving and Obsolete materials
- Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning process providing input to supply and demand plans ensuring optimal inventory decisions
- Leverage advanced customer access to lead the creation and optimization of E2E inventory strategies
- Utilize Lean SC methodology to continuously improve inventory strategies
- Engage product teams to drive accountability of projects & objectives by fulfillment model guiding principles
- Guide the creation of yearly objectives with Global SC staff and lead global initiatives to achieve targets
- Assess and lead optimization of global inventory planning and replenishment progresses across the Supply Chain
- Participate in large scale supply chain programs critical to long term strategy
- Sponsor regional inventory projects and be informed of local projects

**Metrics & Tools**
- Own global inventory scorecard and establish optimal KPIs that align to different levels of ownership in the organization driving for root cause inputs and addressing risks to meet targets
- Standardize, communicate, and ensure processes, tools, trainings, policies, metrics, and analytical reports globally
- Collaborate with finance to ensure reporting alignment providing a consolidated E2E view of current and projected inventory

**Inventory Champions**
- Lead plant and regional inventory champion team to ensure standardization of best practices, optimal execution, and strategy alignment
- Participate in plant and regional focused reviews held by Inventory Champions
- Engage the entire organization to ensure best possible understanding on the importance of inventory management and principles as well as communicate initiatives and results
- Facilitate monthly/quarterly reviews to executive leadership teams

**Education**
- BS/BA in Supply Chain or Engineering
- APICs Certification desired
- Certification in Lean or Green Belt is a plus
- 6 years of experience in progressive SC roles [must have planning role]
- Active participation in the S&OP process
- Extensive use of SAP in planning and/or buying
- Demonstrated project management
