Latam Import

Primary Responsibilities:
The LATAM Import / Export Manager will lead and manage the Business in the integration of all aspects of Operations for International shipments from demand to delivery. Manages the import/export process and ensures compliance with LATAM government laws and regulations. Expedites the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, including customs documentation and transportation. This includes leading the business processes relating to key Import/Export disciplines, including Supply Chain planning.
- Manage all LATAM staff reporting to the position to effectively recruit, train, evaluated, motivate, delegate, and monitor their activities.
- Develop and manage LATAM Import/Export training programs for direct reports
- Manage the movement of products/equipment/materials in and/out of the LATAM countries in accordance with organizational policy and procedures, and to comply with relevant local, country and international law and process.
- Manage the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective, and lawful execution of all import/export activities
- Provide functional knowledge of SAP International Orders, Transportation Management and Trade Compliance to direct reports and LATAM Supply Chain in support of LATAM International operations
- Drive continuous improvement in the LATAM International supply chain
- Mentor business and project leaders within specific work-streams regarding requests related to import/export shipments, sharing appropriate knowledge of all relevant import/export law and procedures, tariffs, duties, licenses, and restrictions.
- Manage financial and currency processes and transactions in accordance with Axalta policy and governing laws.
- Communicate with import and export authorities, and customers and suppliers, in all relevant territories and countries, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive, and lawful relations, support and activities.
- Lead the solution design within the work-stream for process improvement and cost reduction
- Identify and leverage cross-business synergies regarding delivery to promise and order fulfillment
- Lead key programs to minimize operational expense; investigate cost-effective options to utilize existing processes and meet governmental regulations.
- Monitor process performance and continually improve its output and accuracy; build internal import/export processes by researching, analyzing, generating, and developing metrics and management reports related to demand and distribution performance (delivery to promise and order fulfillment).
- Anticipate, research, and advise the business regarding the impact of Export regulation changes taking into consideration: knowledge of orders and shipments, business product lines and business systems, manufacturing requirements, processes, logistics, and financial performance
- Create, maintain, and support import and export business planning procedures, sharing all knowledge of relevant import/export law and procedures, tariffs and duties, licenses, and restrictions.
- Liaise with other departments to establish and maintain effective and relevant export/import activities and support in relation to the organization’s sales, purchasing, material management, production, and overall operating functions.
- Travel as required.

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years experience in roles involving project management, process ownership, and/or people leadership
- Experience with designing and implementing global Enterprise Resource Planning systems such as SAP S4 HANA.
- Strong SAP knowledge and experience with Order and Transportation Management and Trade Compliance to support International Import / Export shipments
- Strong knowledge and experience with LATAM’s Country specific Customs regulations / rules for Import / Exports
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Experience project manager with ability to lead a team through a large and structured project
- Demonstrates ability to lead change across teams and functions, effectively engaging all layers of the organization.
