**Job Overview**:
The Knowledge Services (KS) Research department supports our firm by planning and executing research projects across topics and industries. This included the interpretation and evaluation of data as well as the preparation of results. We are currently seeking a Research Associate who will be focused on the Insurance and Asset Management (IAM) sectors. The Research Associate role will be embedded within Oliver Wyman’s Insurance and Asset Management (IAM) practice requiring strong collaboration with Practice Leaders and practice-aligned consultants.

As a Research Associate you will have strong secondary research skills and the ability to quickly develop knowledge of multiple research tools to facilitate effective and creative research. Over time, you will develop increased industry specialization. You will help consultants scope and develop their project’s research needs, conduct timely, accurate, creative, and cost-effective research for their focused needs, and deliver compelling summarized end products which will include some analyses. Many client engagements are heavily data driven which requires you to have high Excel proficiency.

The role will also require you to provide ad-hoc and programmatic analysis of key business drivers related to Insurance and Asset Management (IAM) industry themes across industries in support of both client projects and business development efforts. **Key Responsibilities**:

- Scope and develop project research needs, conduct timely, accurate and cost-effective research
- Deliver compelling well-synthesized research deliverables created from multiple sources that glean key concepts and trends
- Manage large data sets and conduct basic data analysis
- Take ownership and lead customized research products / services, including identifying opportunities for customized research products / services, sector/company fact packs, benchmarks, trend analysis or support for our published reports
- Demonstrate strong collaboration skills. You will need to excel at sharing ideas with both our internal clients and colleagues in our global Knowledge Services team
- Adhere to firm work standards and processes

**Experience Required**:

- 3-5 years of prior related research experience as an Insurance and Asset Management (IAM) or other financial services sector researcher or analyst at a management consultancy, bank, or market research vendor
- Knowledgeable about developments in the Insurance and Asset Management (IAM) or other financial services sectors
- Degree-educated, with an economist or finance-focused degree
- Strong project management skills
- Evidence of a collaborative approach in previous roles with a highly developed service orientation.

**Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Strong critical thinker with high technical aptitude who can work comfortable with large data sets
- Familiarity with databases focused covering the Insurance and Asset management /Finance sector(s) such as Bloomberg, LESG-Eikon-Refinitiv, S&P CAPIQ Pro /CAPIQ, Factiva and Bests Insurance
