We at Therma-Tru are currently seeking a **Mechanical Industrial Design Engineer **or our high-volume H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico Glass plant. Recognized as a top area employer, you can build your dream career at Therma-Tru in our engaged, performance-driven culture.

**Job Description**:
Coordinate and lead of the design department will oversee the draftsmen. You must perform calculations to determine equipment to use in a new design or redesign and structural calculations of loads and stresses. Constant contact with the team of the innovation center to define objectives and times for new glass products to maintain competitiveness in the glass industry market.

Skilled in the management of continuous improvement projects, ergonomics, and productive improvements, using their critical and safety thinking in all stages of this, from concept selection, design, calculations, tests and validations and implementation.
- Lead the Design Engineering Team
- Support for creating designs by performing corresponding calculations
- Design New Glass Products: Generate Lineart proposals, Panel Drawings, Bezel Drawings, Workshop Drawing
- Elaboration of glass matrix programs, molding matrix for the Assembly area, elaboration of Workshop Drawings for the Decorative Assembly area.
- Creation of Fixture designs, accessories, and workstations for production areas.
- Implementation of continuous and ergonomic improvement projects in production areas.
- Follow-up in the construction and sending of engineering samples for the introduction of new products for the decorative assembly area.
- Update of the General Layout of the Plant.
- Elaboration of Fixtures and Gauges Machined in CNC Router.
- Support to the Production Areas.
- Calculation of material consumption for BOM's of new products in the assembly area. f

**Qualifications**:

- Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering
- 5 years of experience in similar position
- Expert in Design software (AutoCAD, Solid Work, Inventor), 2D and 3D drawing/designs
- Strong in Project Management
- Experience in design and calculation of equipment/machinery for industrial processes
- Knowledge in load and stress calculations and breakdown and calculation of materials
- Skilled in understanding assembly and component drawings and their interactions
- Good tolerance management (GD&T preferable)
- Knowledge of the machining area
- Automation knowledge
- Good oral and written communication, Bilingual English Spanish
- Knowledge of safety standards and the environmental impact of a design
- Management of MS Office
