Purpose Statement: To manage the core technology and activities of a functional engineering team within Plexus Engineering Solutions. An active contributor in shaping the culture on their team and at their site. This role leads high-interest, special projects of significant consequence to the site. It also leads temporary or ad hoc projects which may not fit within the responsibilities of a particular organization in the site, and/or requires temporary assignment of a leader to meet unique site needs.

Key Job Accountabilities:
- Quality Execution: Understands customer needs and proactively follows up project staffing to ensure quality execution. Maintenance and improvement of the quality system and resolution of CAPA issues.- Talent Acquisition and Development: Effectively recruits high potential talent. Proactively identifies growth opportunities to advance the skills and careers of employees within Plexus. Conducts effective and productive performance evaluations, staff assessments, one-on-one discussions, and compensation reviews. Provides constructive feedback and coaching, recognizes individual accomplishments, sets appropriate goals and objectives, and resolves personnel issues and conflicts professionally.- Strategic Growth: Supports continuous improvement. Expands and grows group capabilities by hiring personnel, establishing and achieving group objectives, identifying and supporting training opportunities, developing and maintaining technical roadmaps.- Team Engagement: Understands and enhances individual employee motivations. Instills and reinforces the Plexus culture and fosters positive change, across functional groups, design centers and business units, and fosters positive company morale.- Cost Management: Manages staff and resources appropriately by effective allocation (project and non-billable, across multiple design centers), headcount planning and flex staff usage. Develops and adheres to operating plans and budgets for capital expenditures.

Additional Accountabilities:- Participate in succession planning to ensure trained, reliable, and qualified individuals are prepared for promotions.- Assess priority of new projects with input from directors and project managers to ensure projects are challenging, promote our industries, or advance our technology- Facilitate acquisition and allocation of capital resources (tools and equipment) to ensure high productivity among staff.- Establish, maintain, and improve product development processes to ensure reliable, productive, and quality results.- Provide input on feasibility, cost, schedules, capabilities, resource availability, and contractual obligations for proposal development to ensure competitive estimates to customers.- Participate in marketing and sales activities including initial customer contact, presentations, and technical and business discussions to enhance the representation of the group’s and company’s capabilities.- Communicate company and group financial performance to convey the staff’s performance on key financial metrics.- Ensure that non-billable hours are appropriately allocated for time-off, group goals and improvements, or other approved activity.- Interface with other functional groups to ensure equity among promotions, compensation, and recognition.- Interface with other design centers and business units to understand their expertise, tools, processes, and capabilities to ensure Plexus’ strengths are utilized.- Produce an acceptable quantity of work in a timely manner.- Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated less than 25%).- Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field is required.- Experience of Five (5) years of related experience is required; Two (2) years of related industry experience is preferred and highly desirable.- Industry experience of Five (5) years is required for the position, including Two (2) years of preferred of Project Management experience, and Two (2) years preferred experience with Plexus (or equivalent service industry), assuming education requirements are met.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.
