Team Overview:
Role Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of the company's federal tax returns, as well as timely and accurately complete all tax returns.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and other business-related returns.
- Seek opportunities to improve the processing of the company's tax procedures, and implement them.
- Develop and implement a strategic tax plan for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Direct tax team members in preparing components of the federal tax return and other tax documents.
- Plan and develop a general schedule of returns and coordinate times and entries with the tax team.
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
- Manage and facilitate IRS audits related to income tax: prepare responses, develop schedules, etc.
- Monitor tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes in tax legislation.
- Provide efficient support through various internal audits and special projects in tax matters.
- Review tax returns and quarterly and annual tax projections.
- Direct and educate members of the tax team to achieve higher levels of effectiveness and involvement.
Role Qualifications:
- Public Accountant with more than 5 years of experience in a position in the tax area and at least 2 years of experience in a management position, preferably having some specialty in the tax area and having worked in a big four and multinational company.
- Extensive tax knowledge of companies in different platform and Fintech business models.
- Strong accounting, analytical and research skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
- Get used to manage with local, state and federal reporting requirements in Mexico and LatAm.
- Solid experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
- Strong ability to use accounting and project management best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.
- Ability to work well independently, as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
