Purpose of the Role:

- The APMO will play a key role in the future development of Diageo’s tequila operations. He will develop a strategic framework for assessing current technological capabilities across the existing operations footprint (Distillation, Blending, Maturation, and Bottling) from which a roadmap to future performance can be developed.

- This automation framework should include but not be limited to benefits across all important metrics for Supply Chain Tequila, prioritizing projects according to the benefit delivered in the Category Scorecard critical metrics.

Key Accountabilities
- Develop and communicate a strategic framework for assessing opportunities for automation in Distilling, Blending, Maturation, Facilities, and Packaging environments.
- Find opportunities and prioritize execution based on a pre-established framework. Work with technical guides to identify known and yet-to-be-developed solutions to technical challenges.
- Develop a multi-year End-to-End roadmap for automation.
- Program-manage the Automation agenda, with clear tracking of benefits and Roll.
- Coordinate the implementation of Cybersecurity standards.

Leadership Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate strategic planning ability to develop a comprehensive End-to-End framework and roadmap for automation and communicate to a broad audience.
- Combine theoretical knowledge with operational pragmatism to identify high-impact opportunities and solutions. Demonstrate the need for change, support argument creation, and define technical solutions.
- The APMO will not be responsible for individual project delivery but is accountable for the overall direction and program success. Can handle ambiguity and reach agreements; can act conclusively to deliver clear results.
- Can work with technical authorities to distinguish opportunities with known solutions in the market and those with yet-to-developed solutions and prioritize appropriately to ensure program momentum.
- Communicate sophisticated ideas and solutions in a clear manner, with the ability to work across a broad range of partners, business groups, and seniority levels.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
Crucial
- Mechanical Engineer, Electronic Engineer, Instrument Engineer, or related.
- Relevant Project Management/Organizational Change qualification.
- Proven track record in project management. Ideally in a quality & customer-focused FMCG manufacturing environment or production experience in an operations environment with hands-on validated understanding.
- Technical background is a distinct advantage.
- Proactive structured problem evaluation & solving skills learned through exposure to Manufacturing Excellence.
- Financial awareness, understanding of business drivers, and budgeting processes.
- Exposure to risk assessment and risk management
- Leading and embedding change within teams

Desirable
- Previously proven track record to lead automation/improvement agendas.
- Project / Organizational Change in an FMCG.
