Job Summary

The
_Packaging Commodity Manager Mechanical _will be based in
_Guadalajara, North Campus_.
_Responsible for supporting the development, implementation and management of packaging global strategies to provide Flex segments and business groups with optimal packaging supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance. Working closely with the Supply Chain team / Local Management, the Packaging Commodity Manager will communicate and implement strategies, contracts and pricing to Americas region with an overall focus on maintaining good supplier relationships and costs to a minimum to achieve maximum advantage for the company and its customers._

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

- _ Establish and manage long term strategic and strategic supplier relationships and will engage with Flex sites and business segments_
- _ Guide the selection, development and management of Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity costs and performance goals_
- _ Organize and manage with a focus on talent acquisition, retention and development and performance appraisal._
- _ Implement programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization_
- _ Provide Materials Quotation centers with support from strategic suppliers in order to obtain competitive and timely quotes_
- _ Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate_
- _ Collaborate with Customer Supply Chain Managers to coordinate sourcing strategies and ensure a smooth and timely manufacturing ramp on new programs_
- _ Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies and industry trends._
- _ Provide point of escalation for Commodity issues as appropriate_

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

- _ 7_ Years’ experience in similar position in Packaging industry._
- _ Strong technical background in packaging commodities: corrugated, labels, foam, pallets, returnable packaging._
- _ Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering from an accredited college or university_
- _ Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing and / or experience with the industrial services / technology supplier segment_
- _ 7+ Years of involvement in Commodity Management, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain or equivalent role_
- _ 5+ Years of contract negotiation experience and sound understanding of corporate contracts_
- _ Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills_
- _ Exceptional business acumen_
- _ Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivots, simple Macros) and very comfortable working with large amounts of data_
- _ Presentation skills strong knowledge in power point_
- _ Exceptional relationship management skills and with ease able to navigate up/down the supplier’s hierarchy._
- _ Prior experience in managing commodities_
- _ Strong technical knowledge in networking and storage products is a plus_
- _ Proven successful track record of working in high-tech and fast paced environments._
- _ A self-starter who can operate autonomously while knowing when to ask for help or guidance._
- _ Knowledge managing suppliers in a 100% outsourced model._
- _ Ability to effectively influence/lead change_
