About the role:

This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to grow their accounting career while gaining hands-on experience in mortgage finance operations. This role will assist with daily financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and supporting month-end close activities specific to mortgage lending.

Key Responsibilities:

- Record and classify financial transactions related to mortgage operations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor escrow and trust accounts.
- Support the processing of payments to vendors, investors, and third parties.
- Help maintain accurate general ledger accounts and subledgers.
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Track and reconcile loan funding, payoffs, and servicing entries.
- Collaborate with the loan processing, post-closing, and servicing departments for financial data accuracy.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (completed or in progress).
- 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred, ideally in the mortgage, banking, or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or mortgage-specific platforms).
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn mortgage industry regulations and financial workflows.

- Salary $22k - $24k gross
- Full law benefits (20 days of Christman bonus at year, 37.5% of vacation prime instead of 25%)
