We are seeking a Part-Time / Fractional CTO to collaborate with one of our New York–based clients, providing both strategic and hands-on technical leadership.

This role is ideal for a senior technology leader who enjoys defining technical vision while remaining actively involved in architecture decisions, technical execution, and team guidance. You will act as a trusted technical partner, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives and supporting engineering teams in a flexible, part-time engagement model.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

- Define, evolve, and communicate the technical vision aligned with business and product goals.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, including architecture design, technical decision-making, and solution validation.
- Collaborate closely with product, business, and leadership stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Guide engineering teams on best practices related to scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Establish and enforce standards for code quality, development processes, and technical documentation.
- Identify technical risks, constraints, and dependencies, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Support team growth through mentoring, technical guidance, and participation in hiring decisions when needed.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and tools to support current and future product needs.

Desired Profile

- Senior-level technology leader with experience as CTO, Head of Engineering, Technical Director, Engineering Manager, or similar roles.
- Strong balance between strategic leadership and hands-on technical involvement.
- Proven experience designing software architectures and leading technical teams in dynamic or startup environments.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous contexts and help shape both product and technical direction.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with international stakeholders.

Technical Skills & Tools

- Solid experience designing modern software architectures (monolithic, modular, microservices, cloud-native).
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Background in backend or full-stack development (technology-agnostic).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure best practices.
- Experience working with agile methodologies and iterative product development.

Additional Requirements

- Advanced English proficiency is required for daily communication with US-based stakeholders.
- Open to candidates located in LATAM, including Mexico.
- Availability to collaborate with teams aligned to US time zones.
- Part-time / fractional engagement with flexible dedication.
- Compensation structure to be defined based on experience and availability.
