💼Tool Maker Plastic Injection Molding

We are seeking an experienced Tool Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in plastics injection molding and be highly skilled in the repair, modification, and building of molds and dies. This position is hands-on and requires strong machining and organizational skills in a tool room environment.

Key Responsabilities

- Perform die and mold repairs, including disassembly and reassembly
- Operate lathes, grinders, and other traditional tool room machines and equipment
- Set up and operate CNC machines
- Perform various machining operations to support tool repairs and modifications
- Conduct in-machine and out-of-machine tool repairs
- Utilize EDM machines (a plus)
- Weld using MIG, TIG, or laser methods (preferred)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Tool Maker in a plastics injection molding setting
- Journeyman mold maker certification or equivalent experience
- Mold Repairs and Mold modification experience (hot runner systems is preferred)
- Strong knowledge of machine tool operations including Lathe work, Mill work, Overhead Crane, etc.
- Ability to redline detail drawings and manufacture to tolerances +/-0.001.
- Welding experience is a plus

- Program and run CNC, EDM and other machines.
- Organizational skills – you know how to keep a tool room organized(6S)
- Attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Team player and performing all duties un-supervised in a professional timely manner.
- Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision is required
- Self-motivation and resourcefulness are required

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to bend, twist, reach, push, pull, stand, walk, and perform repetitive wrist motion
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (mechanical aids available for heavier loads)
