This role
The Business Development Retail Manager exists to lead the sustainable and profitable growth of PayJoy Mexico’s retail network, being responsible for the operational and commercial performance of PayJoy points of sale. This role is strategically important to the business because it connects the company’s commercial vision with day-to-day execution in stores. It ensures that each point of sale has the right inventory, maintains healthy credit risk metrics, effectively executes promotions and marketing campaigns, and achieves its sales targets. By managing supervisory routes and resolving operational issues in a timely manner, this position reduces variability across stores, protects business margins, and ensures a consistent customer experience throughout the entire retail network.
ResponsibilitiesInventory Management Across the Retail Network: Design and oversee inventory control processes across all points of sale, coordinating closely with Supply Chain to ensure optimal stock levels that prevent both stockouts and overstock situations. Safeguard product availability for sales while minimizing excess inventory that could negatively impact operational profitability. Maintenance of Healthy Credit and Risk Metrics: Continuously monitor First Payment Default (FPD), early delinquency, and other credit risk indicators at the store level. Identify locations exhibiting atypical performance and implement corrective action plans in collaboration with Risk teams to improve origination quality and protect the company’s portfolio. Design and Execution of Commercial Promotions and Campaigns: Lead the development and execution of promotions and sales campaigns aimed at increasing product placement and conversion rates across points of sale. Ensure that communication materials (POP displays, signage, promotional offers, and merchandising assets) are delivered on time, properly executed in stores, and evaluated through clear ROI metrics to inform future commercial decisions. Management of Store Visit Routes and Sales Targets: Design and manage store visitation and supervision routes across the retail network, assigning differentiated sales targets to each point of sale based on market potential and historical performance. Ensure that every store has clear objectives, defined action plans, and regular follow-up to achieve or exceed commercial goals. Operational Issue Resolution: Address and resolve operational issues reported by stores in a timely manner, including system problems, pricing discrepancies, material shortages, and operational conflicts. Prioritize issues based on business impact and coordinate with relevant internal teams (IT, Supply Chain, Finance, and Risk) to ensure uninterrupted operations at each point of sale. Retail Network Performance Management and Development: Conduct regular field visits to assess operational and commercial execution across stores, provide structured feedback to point-of-sale teams, identify performance gaps, and develop improvement plans that consistently raise execution standards throughout the network. Reporting and Commercial Intelligence: Consolidate and analyze sales, inventory, risk, and KPI performance data across the retail network, producing recurring executive reports for commercial leadership. Identify trends, business opportunities, and operational risks early enough to enable proactive action before they significantly impact business results. Strategic Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between the retail network and internal functions including Supply Chain, Marketing, Risk, Finance, and Technology. Ensure that corporate decisions are effectively translated into field execution and that operational needs from points of sale are appropriately represented and addressed within internal forums and decision-making processes.
