Role Description

UST is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Lead to join our team. As a key member of our DevOps engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS and Azure services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and leadership skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, recommend technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with teams to understand business needs and recommend technical solutions.
  2. Driving adoption of DevOps best practices and identifying gaps in current systems.
  3. Leading the design and deployment of Lambda functions and API Gateways using Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation.
  4. Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, focusing on AWS and Azure DevOps practices.
  5. Guiding the DevOps engineer to automate infrastructure deployments using Terraform and manage version control via GitHub.
  6. Overseeing GitHub administration and Azure Pipeline management, ensuring smooth collaboration across teams.
  7. Leveraging tools like New Relic, DataDog, and CloudWatch to ensure the health, performance, and availability of applications and infrastructure.
  8. Establishing monitoring, logging, and practices to maintain operational excellence.
  9. Engaging daily with leadership and other teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of cloud and DevOps projects.
  10. Preparing and presenting weekly/monthly status reports for senior leadership, providing insights into project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  11. Effective communication and coordination between technical teams and stakeholders.
  12. Defining the scope and requirements for DevOps initiatives, aligning with business goals and technical constraints.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Proficiency with monitoring tools like New Relic, DataDog, and CloudWatch to maintain high availability and system performance.
  2. Strong knowledge of AWS services and Azure Pipelines, with the ability to manage complex CI/CD pipelines.
  3. Experience with GitHub administration, including branching strategies, pull requests, and access control.
  4. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to interact with leadership and technical teams on a daily basis.
  5. Ability to identify system gaps, recommend best practices, and drive continuous improvement in DevOps and cloud infrastructure.
  6. Ability to define the scope of new initiatives and provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
