Job Title: Commodities Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodities Manager to join our team at Integer Holdings Corporation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, focusing on cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, competitive leverage, outsourcing, and process improvements.
  • Gather market intelligence and trends for categories and subcategories, identifying risks and working closely with stakeholders to eliminate or mitigate them.
  • Analyze data and develop tools to manage commodities, coordinating all strategic sourcing activities, including financial analysis.
  • Compile aggregate demand for assigned categories across all Integer locations to leverage spend for contract negotiations.
  • Identify competitive suppliers and develop comprehensive supplier knowledge and databases.
  • Identify insourcing and outsourcing opportunities and guide internal stakeholders through a systematic commodity approach to material and supplier selection and management.
  • Promote continuous value improvement for quality, service, and cost with assigned supply bases, managing supplier performance and identifying Continuous Improvement Programs.
  • Ensure optimal balance between collaborative engagement and competitive pressure with supply bases to realize maximum value, including negotiation or value improvements and optimal supplier contracts.
  • Negotiate supplier agreements and work with Contract Management and Legal teams to ensure assigned categories are covered contractually with favorable commercial terms.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, supply chain, operations) to determine business needs and drive the implementation of the commodity strategy plan.
  • Apply project management and problem-solving skills to resolve supplier issues and support sourcing strategy execution.
  • Work closely with Finance and Supply Chain Analytics teams to ensure standards and savings data are accurate for assigned categories during budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Own annual budget process for assigned suppliers, as well as crisis or systematic issue resolution.
  • Ensure supplier selection for NPI programs provides lowest total cost, required quality, and delivery levels with minimum risk in line with Integer's commodity strategies.
  • Establish early involvement in NPI program sourcing to achieve development performance goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost.
  • Adhere to Integer's Values and all safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements, including Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies, and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • CPSM, Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • At least 5 years of sourcing/supply chain management experience in a multi-location manufacturing-based business, preferably medical device, aerospace, or automotive industries.
  • At least 2 years of commodity management experience, preferably electronics and/or metals.

Knowledge and Skills:

Specialized Knowledge: Specific commodity and industry expertise, negotiating and procurement principles.

Special Skills:

  • Strong demonstrated negotiation experience and skills.
  • Project management experience, including root cause analysis, cross-functional mediation, and facilitation.
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing commodity strategies resulting in significant financial and operational benefits.
  • Demonstrated track record of cost reduction required.
  • Experience in medical device industry preferred.
  • ERP experience (in-depth understanding of procurement, MRP applications) desired.
  • Good understanding of how supply chain/sourcing interacts with other functions.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing approaches, including value chain analysis, cost models, ESI, partnership development.
  • Direct experience in supplier contract negotiations.
  • Ability to build supplier relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to apply a long-term view while ensuring day-to-day delivery of results.
  • Advanced technical knowledge, including various manufacturing processes, and ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Strong financial acumen, especially as related to sourcing and supply chain.
  • Detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills.
  • Proactive, ability to meet aggressive deadlines, and maintain strong internal customer focus required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Recognized inside and outside the organization as subject matter expert.
