Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team at IBM. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a critical role in the preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and posting of journal entries in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of accruals and prepayments.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with other finance and accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Requirements
- Understanding of accounting principles and concepts, such as double-entry accounting, debits, credits, and the general ledger.
- Capable of accurately inputting financial data into accounting systems or spreadsheets.
- Ability to spot errors and discrepancies in journal entries and reconcile them promptly.
- Capability to maintain orderly and well-documented records of journal entries for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Capable of communicating effectively with team members and supervisors, seeking clarification when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Some relevant internship or entry-level accounting experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
- Ability in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the accounting field.
