Your Role...
As an integral member of the FP&A team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the consolidation and reporting processes, as well as managing film cost accounting for television products produced or acquired by our organization, adhering to industry standards for financial planning cycles (Budget, Forecast, Monthly Update).

Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization, including finance groups, production teams, and distribution networks, to assess television film costs and the financial implications of production agreements and strategic changes.

Film Cost Accounting and Reporting:

Facilitate the ultimates process for television series, including comprehensive reviews and effective communication with business units for updates. Assist in the evaluation of film cost accounting calculations throughout all planning cycles. Conduct thorough analyses of film cost data for television products. Assess the impact of ultimate changes on quarterly and annual financial results. Support the preparation and analysis of ultimate submissions for all planning cycles. Propose necessary journal entries for adjustments related to ultimate costing. Maintain and update the Master File of Ultimate Title Listings. Review and request changes to title attributes and costing details. Assist in preparing the Ultimates layouts and ensure system readiness for submissions. Request explanations for variances compared to previous forecasts and budgets. Communicate potential risks and opportunities to management. Support project approvals, renewals, and return on investment calculations. Assist business units in providing pro-forma analyses to support strategic decisions.

Financial Planning and Reporting:

Collaborate with key stakeholders in the organization. Assist in reviewing assumptions and guidelines for television products across all planning cycles. Address inquiries from finance personnel and management. Analyze submitted long sheets from production units. Support the review of delivery and completion data for ongoing productions. Assist in preparing production cost analyses for all planning cycles. Prepare journal entries for any necessary adjustments during planning periods. Ensure proper maintenance of attributes in financial systems. Support the review of entries related to sales and intercompany transactions.

Business Unit Support and Analysis:

Provide financial data and ultimates for planning cycles to business units. Support direct-to-consumer business units with necessary financial information.

Additional Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with documentation requirements. Participate in financial transformation initiatives. Assist in ad-hoc analyses as needed.

Qualifications:

Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential (including spreadsheets, pivot tables, and macros). Experience with SAP BW/BPS is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and financial statements is crucial. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or financial forecasting is required. Experience in public accounting or the entertainment industry is preferred. A BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
