We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Process Engineer to join our team at Schneider Electric Norge AS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient assembly processes for new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with design teams to ensure Design for Assembly (DFA) principles are applied to new products.
- Evaluate and validate product design alternatives to create optimal process designs.
- Create detailed capacity analysis studies to compare manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated solutions.
- Define material flow and handling to supply the process.
- Plan and establish the sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products.
- Define industrial technologies needed to assemble new products.
- Contribute to target cost by providing product assembly time using systemic methods.
- Write specification and qualification plans for production means.
- Manage the realization of production means at suppliers.
- Drive the qualification of means at supplier and internal operation sites.
- Participate in the ramp-up of production means to operations sites.
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics.
- 3-5+ years experience in manufacturing industry directly supporting assembly operations.
- 3-5+ years experience industrializing new products.
- Application of Lean and Six Sigma techniques.
- Examples of continuous improvement positively impacting safety, quality, and labor efficiency metrics.
- AutoCAD.
- Creo (ProE) or Solidworks.
- Simulation or production modeling tools.
- Microsoft Visio.
- SAP.
- Basic understanding of PLC programming.
- Basic understanding of MES / MIS systems.
- Familiar with vision systems.
- Familiar with motion controllers and actuators.
- Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Travel required up to 30% (domestic and international based on project assignment).
