Job Overview

We're seeking a highly motivated Industrialization Assembly Process Optimization Expert to join our team in Mexico City. As part of our Secure Power Division, you'll play a crucial role in supporting supply chain development in New Product Introduction. Your primary responsibility will be to industrialize new assembly processes, ensuring they are efficient, effective, and aligned with our company's goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and operations specialists, to optimize assembly processes.
  • Act as a safety and health champion, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to optimize part design for Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Conduct Design for Assembly (DFA) risk studies and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify critical characteristics and develop mitigation plans.
  • Perform financial assessments of assembly process designs, considering unit volumes and return on capital employed.
  • Document technical and generic specifications of assembly process designs, including line layouts, station layouts, and capacity planning.
  • Prepare assembly value-add target cost estimates and optimize total cost and industrial strategy decisions.
  • Participate in supplier selection and contract review processes to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment technologies, analyzing their applicability for use in production departments and the manufacturing facility.
  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to enhance internal industrial processes.
  • Monitor assembly process equipment completion, participate in process qualification processes, and optimize performance.
  • Ensure compliance with Lean Manufacturing Principles and Schneider Electric Production System (SPS) documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience in assembly and production environments, preferably in new product development.
  • Experience in implementing assembly processes in both high-volume and low-volume production environments.
  • Lean Expert certification or demonstrated competence in Lean Manufacturing (5S, Kanban, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement).
  • Automation experience is a plus for this role.
  • Advanced English language proficiency.
