Lead Cloud Solutions Architect

We are on the lookout for a driven cloud software architect who possesses robust technical expertise for the role of Lead Cloud Solutions Architect within our Infrastructure Hosting and Networks division. In this capacity, you will partner with technical colleagues and business stakeholders to design and implement the groundwork for the next generation of advanced cloud-native software applications and services at Thomson Reuters.

As a member of the Infrastructure Hosting and Networks team, you will be immersed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and high-performing environment at the core of Thomson Reuters' transition to developing cloud-native applications and services, with a focus on AWS and cloud landing zone solutions. This team is agile and inventive, playing a pivotal role in shaping our technological direction. Your contributions will be crucial in facilitating the present and future landscape of cloud computing at Thomson Reuters. You will be tasked with generating innovative concepts and prototypes to meet the existing and forthcoming requirements of our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role as Lead Cloud Solutions Architect, you will:

Design and implement solutions for managing Cloud accounts, primarily focusing on AWS while also engaging with other providers like Azure. Collaborate with technology experts across the organization to create cloud-native applications. Utilize CI/CD automation with Python to oversee cloud infrastructure. Adhere to industry standards and internal cloud architecture best practices. Stay informed about emerging trends related to AWS and Azure. Operate within a global, highly collaborative, and dynamic team setting. Engage with PaaS (Platform as a Service) or IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solutions.

About You:
You would be an ideal candidate for the Lead Cloud Solutions Architect position if your qualifications include:

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant technology field or equivalent industry experience. Proficiency with Cloud Landing zones, particularly AWS. Familiarity with automation tools such as AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeCommit, Git, and CloudFormation. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex designs in simple terms. Capability to mentor team members, guiding them through intricate challenges and enhancing their skills. Over 4 years of experience in cloud technologies. Experience with two or more of the following technology areas: Building cloud-native applications using public cloud architecture; a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and related technologies such as Load Balancers, Route53, Security Groups, VPCs, VPN Gateways, etc.; proficiency in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or UNIX/Shell; comfortable in both Windows and Linux environments; experience in deploying and managing RDS, EC2, Lambda, S3; familiarity with serverless technologies like AWS Lambda or Azure Functions; knowledge of cloud monitoring services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, DataDog; understanding of AWS Multi-Account Strategy, Control Tower, and Landing Zone concepts.
