Opportunity Overview
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under the guidance of the Industrial Engineering and Quality Manager, this role is tasked with overseeing the Quality Assurance operations to guarantee that products adhere to defined quality standards through PWA & UFR metrics. Additionally, this position is accountable for the Incoming Inspection Area, ensuring that the materials utilized in production comply with Kohler's quality benchmarks. Furthermore, it involves managing the quality laboratory for dimensional and functional assessments as required for ongoing production and the introduction of new products, along with calibration services for all critical equipment utilized within the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervise the PWA Area for final packed audits to confirm that products align with the quality standards as per the Global Aesthetic Standard – Vitreous Division.
2. Accountable for the PWA and UFR metrics, ensuring that objectives are met. Weekly and monthly reports must be submitted to the Industrial Engineering and Quality Manager, including preventive and corrective measures to achieve targets.
3. Conduct weekly and monthly meetings with the General Supervisor of FPP, Industrial Engineering and Quality Manager, and Sr. Global Manager of Quality to implement action plans aimed at reducing PWA and UFR metrics.
4. Organize weekly PWA Management Audits with all General Supervisors and Managers to evaluate current production items and establish action plans for quality enhancement.
5. Oversee the certification of 1F and 2F Inspectors within the FPP Area, in accordance with the Global Aesthetic Standard – Vitreous Division, and validate the knowledge acquired through an R&R Test.
6. Manage and coordinate the Incoming Inspection Area to ensure that direct materials are inspected according to technical specifications and that critical characteristics are not compromised before production release.
7. Direct the Quality Laboratory, ensuring adherence to a daily testing schedule for current production items and new products based on dimensional and performance criteria.
8. Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures in the Quality Laboratory during dimensional and performance evaluations.
9. Coordinate product verification in the Quality Lab for new product introductions, including dimensional and performance testing, in collaboration with NDP and NPI engineers.
10. Collaborate with NPI Engineers to analyze products that do not meet Kohler standards and propose solutions or improvements for the product and/or processes.
11. Manage internal calibration services for all critical equipment in the plant and establish a verification frequency based on equipment wear.
12. Provide support across all plant areas to minimize quality defects and ensure the implementation of best practices.
13. Ensure that standard operating procedures are standardized and adhered to in PWA, Incoming Inspection, and QA Laboratory.
14. Develop team members to enhance performance levels in their current roles, increase engagement, and prepare for future promotional opportunities, in compliance with Mexican government regulations.
15. Adhere to the Health and Safety Roles and Responsibilities established for this position.

Supervisory Relationships:
Direct report to the Industrial Engineering and Quality Manager.
Dotted Line to Sr. Global Manager of Quality.
Organizational Relationships:
High interaction with General Supervisors and Managers.
High interaction with Bajío NPI Engineer.
Frequent contact with NPD Kohler Engineering.
External Relationships:
Frequent communication with direct material suppliers.
Frequent interaction with calibration service providers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Engineering degree.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred 2-5 years of relevant experience in implementing Quality Systems.
Preference for knowledge in Ceramic Vitreous.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Management of personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based software tools.
- Ability to communicate professionally in English (Priority).
- Preferred knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015 and 17025.
- Familiarity with work methodologies: Procedures, work instructions, Standards (ASME, NOM, CSA).
- Laboratory management experience.
- Basic knowledge of Metrology.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and dimensional measurements.
- Warranty management experience.
- Problem-solving methodologies (PDCA, 5 Whys, 8D, A3, Ishikawa, Shainin).
- Six Sigma methodology.
- Statistical process control.
- Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, Control Plan).
- Supplier quality management.
- Negotiation skills with internal and external clients.
- Familiarity with SAP.
