Platform Engineering Lead for Monitoring and Observability

At Cognizant, we're seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Monitoring and Observability Platform team. As a Platform Engineering Lead, you'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of performance, reliability, and scalability of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and improve the platform's performance, reliability, and scalability.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate new technologies and enhance platform functionality.
  3. Lead projects to expand and improve platform capabilities using innovative technological solutions.
  4. Manage the adoption of new technologies to advance service quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Management Information Systems from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
  2. 6+ years of experience with Agile methods/methodologies and leading SCRUM/Lean/Kanban teams.
  3. 15+ years of relevant professional experience as a technology engineer, with 7+ years in a role managing platform teams.
  4. Knowledge of information management practices, regulatory requirements, and global data privacy laws related to the pharmaceutical industry.
  5. Proven knowledge of IT Service Management, Service Operations, and Service Release (ITIL v4 and ITSM).
  6. Working knowledge of DevOps CI/CD technologies and lifecycle.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud IaaS and PaaS technology environments (AWS and Azure preferred).
  8. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of micro-services concepts, API integration enablement, container technologies, and services (Kubernetes based preferred).
  9. 10+ years of experience enabling telemetry, monitoring, and observability environments using leading APM/AIOPS solutions (Splunk, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, ServiceNow preferred).
  10. 5+ years of experience using public cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure required).
  11. Proven experience with platform engineering automation lifecycle, leveraging infrastructure as code, configuration management, orchestration, modern patterns, APIs, and site reliability engineering concepts.
  12. Experience with scripted deployment process, tools, and lifecycle (i.e. Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Python).
