Flexsteel Industries Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Materials Planning and Logistics Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing functions for raw materials and component inventory across multiple manufacturing plants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with corporate Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning team to execute strategies that optimize inventory cost and service levels across the network.
- Implement procedures and controls that provide early indicators of potential inventory issues to mitigate disruptions to production.
- Ensure supply plans are in place to meet new product launch timelines.
- Manage local supplier performance and supply agreements, delivering material cost savings through supplier negotiations and other sourcing strategies.
- Work closely with manufacturing and warehousing teams to maintain a robust control environment that minimizes inventory losses.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency within the supply chain and enhance inventory accuracy.
- Develop and manage cycle counting procedures for key inventory categories and lead periodic physical inventory counts.
- Report and analyze key inventory metrics, including yield performance, inventory turns, excess and obsolete items.
- Communicate goals and objectives, facilitating associate growth and development through regular team meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and CTPAT requirements.
- Oversee warehouse area safety control and housekeeping.
- Identify and justify capital requirements for Shipping and Receiving departments.
- Evaluate inventory losses to develop better processes for ensuring inventory security.
