**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corn and Sorghum Seed Production Manager to lead our seed production team at the Tlajomulco Research Center.

**About the Role:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and supervision of seed production activities in corn and sorghum crops. This includes ensuring the production of high-quality seeds with physical, genetic, physiological, and phytosanitary attributes in sufficient quantities for various breeding programs across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Execute all approved actions to achieve maximum compliance with seed quantity and quality.
  • Plan seed production activities to ensure timely availability of resources and personnel needs during the production cycle.
  • Supervise daily activities and provide progress reports, highlighting efficiency and operational needs.
  • Lead by example, promoting compliance with designated activities, maintaining organized records, and providing information as needed.
  • Participate in crop development supervision and promptly report on any quantity or quality issues, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate with work teams to ensure clear understanding of responsibilities and optimize day-to-day execution.
  • Create locations and experiments through company systems, assigning them based on production needs and strategic land use optimization.
  • Collaborate with other production service areas and SRAs to foster active collaboration according to established priorities.
  • Coordinate support activities for the centralization project, including data collection, sample collection, leaf punching, agronomic management, experiment establishment, and others.
  • Promote innovative solutions to work situations, trying new approaches to address problems and opportunities.
  • Ensure regulatory protocol compliance associated with each experiment.
  • Adhere to Corteva Agriscience Management System (CAMS) and EHS&S protocols and training.
  • Develop and improve area activity procedures following Corteva's quality system guidelines.
  • Work closely with Operations Lead to generate metrics showcasing operational process efficiencies.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in agriculture or related field preferably.
  • At least 5 years of experience in controlled pollination seed production for corn and sorghum.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build internal and external relationships.
  • Evidence of self-motivation, including project initiation, decision-making, problem-solving, and multitasking.
  • Knowledge of corn crop development, pests, diseases, nutritional deficiencies, and irrigation management is desirable.
  • Experimental design skills are preferred for setting up experiments if necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to drive standard and automatic vehicles.

**Estimated Salary:** $85,000 - $115,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
