Job Summary

The Senior Program Manager will oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of new product development portfolios and/or projects, existing product update projects, or strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring the goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Responsible for projects from initiation through volume production and project closure. Progress will be managed through a gate process, with this role driving readiness, deliverables, and gate reviews.
  2. Project Planning: Develops overall project management plan including scope, schedule, staffing plan, and budget.
  3. Project Review: Reviews project charter, business case, and requirements to establish the work plan and resource needs to successfully execute the project in the allotted time frame and funding.
  4. Team Leadership: Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  5. Communication: Prepares and presents project status reports for management, client, or other stakeholders. Gathers and develops material for project presentations.
  6. Risk Management: Develops risk management plan and mitigation strategies with multiple functions to minimize potential impact to the delivery commitments.
  7. Technical Guidance: Provides technical advice and issue resolution to project team members. The Senior Program Manager is often the first point of escalation to resolve team challenges.
  8. Process Improvement: Develops and improves project management processes focused on reduction in project cycle times.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's / Master's degree, technical degree preferred.
  2. Experience: 5 to 7 years' experience in a program management type role, preferably in a new product development environment.
  3. Skills: Strong knowledge project management standards and practices. Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, Power Point, and other project management software and applications.
  4. Communication: Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills (English required).
  5. Judgment: Requires mature judgment, responsible for assigned projects and supervises, organizes, and directs the work of others.
  6. Travel: This position requires up to 10% domestic and international travel.
