We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Process Engineer to join our team at Schneider Electric Norge AS. As an Assembly Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of assembly processes for new products.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop assembly processes that meet global standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure safe and efficient assembly processes.
- Work with design engineering to develop and implement assembly process deliverables that align with global practices.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for assembly processes, including line layouts, station layouts, and information management.
- Conduct financial assessments to optimize assembly process design and maximize return on capital employed.
- Participate in supplier selection and contract review process to ensure high-quality outsourced assemblies.
- Lead the qualification of equipment and obtain plant acceptance for project deliverables.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in assembly processes, methods, and competencies.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in assembly line development and deployment.
- Experience with electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Experience in a broad range of sub and final assembly processes.
- Experience in a new product development environment or related stage gate process awareness.
- Experience with digital tools for guided assembly.
- Proven ability to define key line measurements, process parameters, and methods to collect them and drive MES integration.
- Experience applying tools and software to analyze efficiency of assembly lines and identify improvement areas.
- Proven ability to work successfully in a multicultural virtual environment.
- Proven ability to influence and convince through negotiation.
- Motivated self-starter, able to work autonomously in parallel on multiple projects.
- 5+ years of experience in assembly line development for high-volume manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of experience in assembly line development with significant level of automation.
- PLC programming experience.
- Experience configuring and designing HMI systems.
- Experience configuring and modifying MES and MIS systems.
- Experience in large data analytics and software used to create algorithms.
- Knowledge of communication protocols.
- Basic understanding of UL Standard, NFPA 79, National Electric Code.
Travel required up to 50% (domestic and international based on project assignment).
