Solution Architect

The Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing projects that meet customer/partner needs. This individual gathers insights from various stakeholders to define and document the architecture, ensuring a clear value proposition and project approach. Collaborating with the Project Manager, the Solution Architect drives project/technical governance, risk management, and quality control. They work closely with the Account Team and/or Bid Team to understand the business solution/problem and anticipate potential blockers. The Solution Architect leads the adoption of Microsoft solutions technologies, leveraging their understanding of competitor solutions to drive customer business value.

• Architecture Design and Deployment
  • The Solution Architect defines and documents the architecture through various documents, ensuring a clear understanding of the business solution's value proposition and project approach. They lead complex discussions to explain the architecture in terms of build, deployment, and operational use, determining customer appetite for the business solution.
  • Collaborating with the Account Team and/or Bid Team, the Solution Architect drives agreement on customer priorities, requirements, and constraints. They build and document a realistically costed Solution Approach, balancing risk, technical credibility, and innovation to meet customer needs.
  • The Solution Architect works with the Project Manager to jointly drive project/technical governance, ensuring quality control and adherence to the pre-sales value proposition. They use change requests to modify the Solution/project approach when needed.
  • Leveraging structured approaches to Architecture Projects, the Solution Architect proposes and develops new solutions to scale across multiple customers/partners. They build and maintain architecture description documents, ensuring the rationale for the business solution's architecture is known and understood.
• Understanding Customer/Partner Technical Environment
  • The Solution Architect works with customer/partner stakeholders to socialize the business solution and project approach, determining if changes are needed. They gather customer/partner insights to shape and form project definitions and ongoing execution.
  • The Solution Architect identifies and evaluates industry trends, adapting business models, plans, and solutions to insights. They use evidence-based approaches to represent the customer/partner as a customer advocate, sharing insights with Product Engineering teams and the business.
• Thought Leadership
  • The Solution Architect leads virtual teams around technologies and customer/partner challenges, sharing ideas, insight, and strategic, technical input with technical teams and internal communities. They participate in external architect community events, sharing learnings with internal teams.
  • The Solution Architect acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues, educating them on technical and non-technical concepts and sharing best practices. They demonstrate deep industry knowledge and drive recognition for Microsoft solutions through presentations and engagements with external audiences.
• Practice Development
  • The Solution Architect generates new and/or improvements to existing intellectual property, connecting gaps and patterns across business and technology areas to drive changes. They identify which ideas should be culled, considering scale across customers.
• Trusted Advisor
  • The Solution Architect develops a network of internal/external relationships with senior-level decision makers to build influence in addressing problems/blockers and facilitating additional views on the matter of interest. They act as an advisor to external stakeholders, providing direction to facilitate relationships between others.
  • The Solution Architect leads the adoption of Microsoft solutions technologies, leveraging their understanding of competitor solutions to drive customer business value. They differentiate Microsoft's solutions in customer/partner conversations to influence the industry-wide direction for specific architecture(s).

Required/minimum qualifications

• 1+ year(s) experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams.
• 2+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios.
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security) OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security) OR equivalent experience.
• The position requires proficiency in Spanish at a fluent level and English at an advanced level.

Additional or preferred qualifications

• Technical or Professional Certification in Domain (e.g., Security). 3+ years people management experience, including managing consultant practice managers, technical sales managers, and/or technical architect managers.
• 6+ years project management experience.
• 6+ years technical sales experience.
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security) OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security) OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in the following functional areas:
• Azure Kubernetes & Containers: Experience with Docker, Kubectl, shell scripting, Pod design & configuration, operations and monitoring, and container tools such as Prometheus, Twistlock, or Sysdig.
• Dependable Microservices Architecture Background: Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing microservices architecture, including service decomposition, service boundaries, API design, and inter-service communication. Familiarity with patterns like Circuit Breaker, Service Registry, and API Gateway.
• Development Languages and.NET Technologies: Proficiency in development languages such as C#, JavaScript, PHP, Python, and experience with.NET technologies up to the latest version, including.NET Core,.NET Standard, and ASP.NET Core.
• Azure DevOps: Expertise with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform, ARM Templates, YAML, PowerShell, Python or other scripting languages, CI/CD, Unit/UI Testing.
• Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and the ability to design microservices to leverage cloud-native services.
• Databricks Experience: Proven experience with Databricks, including leveraging Apache Spark for large-scale data processing and analytics. Expertise in building and optimizing data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Databricks, and integrating Databricks with BI tools like Power BI for advanced analytics. Skilled in managing and utilizing both static and streaming data for batch and real-time processing, ensuring robust data infrastructure.
