About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Engineer to join our team at Rackspace. As a Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will play a key role in helping our customers achieve their business goals by designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that meet their unique needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the technical liaison between customers and engineering resources, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide tactical scope and work directly with business representatives and customers to understand their requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
  • Communicate effectively with both business and technical colleagues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all necessary questions are asked and that nothing crucial to the project's success is overlooked.
  • Act as a Cloud evangelist, educating customers on the value of cloud computing and helping them transition to the cloud in a high-value migration approach.
  • Work with customers to enable a DevOps culture and modernize operations and release strategies.
  • Establish credibility and build impactful relationships with customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
  • Participate in deep engineering discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new or migrating existing applications, software, and services on the AWS Cloud Platform.
  • Conduct deep-dive education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers interested in AWS and ensure our SAs are up to date.
Requirements
  • Fluent, bi-lingual (Spanish and English)
  • 2-3 years design and implementation experience with distributed applications
  • 2-3 years of experience in networking, infrastructure, or database engineering
  • Strong, in-depth understanding and professional experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud services and infrastructure
  • One or more AWS professional certifications preferred
  • Hands-on experience with tooling and services related to cloud automation, IaC, and DevOps: Terraform, Git (one or more: GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket), CICD pipelines (one or more: GitHub actions, GitLab CICD, Bitbucket pipelines, Jenkins, ArgoCD, AWS DevOps), K8S/Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, AWS CLI/CloudFormation Templates
  • Hands-on experience with tooling and services related to large cloud migrations for at least one of the following hyperscaler platforms: AWS MGN, AWS DMS/SCT, AWS DRS, Azure Migrate, Azure DB Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, Google VM Migration/Velostrata, Google Container Migration/Anthos, Google DB Migration service
  • Hands-on experience with tooling and services related to database deployments and admin: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
  • Source code management: Git
  • Artifacts management (one or more): Artifactory, Nexus, S3, Blob storage, etc.
  • CICD (one or more): GitHub actions, GitLab CICD, Bitbucket pipelines, Jenkins, ArgoCD, AWS DevOps
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a software development language and/or scripting (one or more): Scripting languages: python /Primary languages: Javascript/Typescript, nodejs, C#, Golang, C, etc.
  • Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management, and developers
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to right-level conversations
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
Desired
  • 3-5+ years of experience in customer-facing software/technology or consulting
  • 3-3+ years of experience with on-premises to cloud migrations or IT transformations
  • 3+ years of experience engineering/operating solutions built on AWS (ideally) or AWS/AWS
  • 1 or more AWS, Azure, or GCP Professional Cloud Engineer certifications

This is a permanent remote job, but you need to be based in Mexico at one of the following locations: Ciudad de Mexico, Jalisco, Nuevo Leon, Aguascalientes, Queretaro, Estado de Mexico, and Puebla.
