Position Overview

As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing construction plans, breaking them down into electrical sub-packages, and preparing accurate cost estimates. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing design data from databases and/or existing designs to ensure project accuracy and alignment with local regulations.
• Modifying sections of drawings to ensure compliance with city standards and identifying labor, material, and time requirements based on drawings and the client's proposal.
• Collating material prices and lists of suppliers and rates to develop comprehensive project estimates.
• Analyzing construction plans and customer additions for subsequent system documentation and reviewing narratives, plans, and specifications to ensure alignment between pricing and the scope of work.
• Breaking down plans into the various electrical sub-packages and calculating the cost of electrical construction by reviewing and evaluating available documents.
• Identifying value engineering options while considering specific job conditions that may affect labor and materials to be purchased and installed.
• Leading the electrical portion of estimates and ensuring that scopes are coordinated and completed in the system.
• Developing conceptual estimates based on limited information at all phases of the project design progression and participating in the development and reviewing of design alternatives, cost options, and value engineering.
• Managing unit and development cost estimations and helping determine affordable and reliable material sources.
• Executing system design calculations to ascertain equipment specifications and periodically reviewing and updating materials and cost databases to ensure these reflect changing material or labor costs.
• Updating pricing based on customer selections and complete billing preparation and requesting material and equipment quotes from vendors while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
• Developing and managing the electrical pricing bid strategy, breakouts, and work packages and explaining electrical pricing and costs to clients and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical estimating or a related field preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with construction materials and their associated costs preferred.
• Highly detail-oriented and well-organized required.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Compensation

$20, $25,000.00 per month.
