Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Wallenius Wilhelmsen Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the VPC processes to achieve profitability results, ensuring compliance with operational processes, and maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Client Management

Perform and assure assertive communication with clients, ensuring compliance with client requirements, including all legal and operational areas.

Reporting and Leadership

Report to the WW leadership team on VPC status and results.

Strategy Development

Develop long and short-term strategies in support of VPC objectives.

Human Resources Support

Support the RRHH department in union negotiation and requirements.

Coordinating and Planning

Ensure that coordinating and planning activities support VPC objectives.

Communication and Training

Communicate VPC objectives, strategies, and activities to VPC staff.

Training and Development

Ensure that adequate training and tools are provided to VPC staff.

Management Targets

Establish routine management targets for the VPC.

Cost Reduction

Identify and implement cost reduction activities.

Lean Waste Management

Implement, manage, and support lean waste objectives and projects.

Operating Procedures

Evaluate and establish operating procedures.

Quality and Safety

Ensure that established operating procedures are followed for all production operations functions and processes.

Efficiency and Quality Standards

Ensure that VPC efficiency standards are met and/or exceeded while maintaining WW standards of quality.

Workplace Safety

Ensure that workplace safety standards are met, including the proper storage and handling of hazardous waste materials.

Total Quality Management

Execute total quality management principles, including Policy Management, Shop Floor Management, and Routine Management processes.

Teamwork and Collaboration

Work cohesively with all members of VPC management.

Compliance and Confidentiality

Ensure VPC compliance with all WW policies and procedures.

Leadership Competencies

Advocate the Company Leadership Competencies.

Confidentiality and Relations

Maintain confidentiality of information and ensure compliance with company confidentiality policies and applicable laws.

Customer Relations

Maintain positive relations with customers, vendors, business associates, and employees.

Employee Development

Ensure supervisory staff is cross-trained in multiple VPC functions and embraces a team-oriented approach to problem solving.

Requirements

A good fit for this position has 5-7 years in planning and directing operations, and experience in:
