The Database Cloud Service team at Oracle offers a unique opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. As a member of this team, you will have the chance to work on designing and developing innovative new systems to power our customer's business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the design, architecture, and operation of large-scale distributed database cloud service features. Responsible for the design and development of automation and automation framework, with a focus on service security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Define and develop monitoring infrastructure criteria for Oracle Database Cloud service. Solve complex problems and build automation to prevent problem recurrence and quickly diagnose/mitigate issues. Participate in research, prototyping, and development of different aspects of Oracle Database Cloud service.
Required Skills
At least a BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. Production environment experience at high scale with an emphasis on availability, latency, and healthy customer experience. Experience with Exadata Database Machine Infrastructure is preferred. Strong analytical skills to identify problems and their root cause. Systematic problem-solving approach, combined with a strong sense of ownership and a good understanding of operating large-scale distributed systems. Solid software development skills using scripting languages, with Java being a must. Nice to have: Shell, Python Scripting, and a good understanding of how the Linux kernel works (IO, Network). Experience in building and handling Linux OS systems and virtualized systems (KVM, OVM, Containers/Docker) is strongly preferred.
Desirable Skills
Experience with public clouds such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with DevOps tools and practices, CICD tools, and Agile software development methodologies.
