Job Title: Demand Planner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Demand Planner to join our team at Levi Strauss & Co. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive business strategies to drive sales, optimize inventory investment, and generate profit by account.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with DTC and merchandising teams to develop and manage business strategies to drive sales and optimize inventory investment.
  • Manage Open-to-Buy, build financial plans, and perform analysis to support the sales plan.
  • Drive financial results that maximize revenue, gross margin, inventory turn goals, and minimize excess inventory for both the company and account.
  • Develop bottom-up sales and inventory plans based on customer sell-out trends, channel inventory levels, and inform financial decisions inclusive of product mix, AIR, AUC, turn, Receipt Flow, and Markdown vs. Reg Selling.
  • Create and distribute weekly and monthly business recaps vs. plan and forecast, with emphasis on performance drivers and issues with solutions and influence highlighted.
  • Use historical data to identify essential insights around product, pricing, and inventory and apply insights to future seasons.
  • Recommend promotional pricing that maximizes sales and margin and balances inventory.
  • Determine markdown and end-of-life disposition strategies for non-go forward products.
  • Own Monthly in-season OTB forecast of sales, receipts, turn, and inventory needs to meet target KPIs to drive ongoing in-season strategies and maximize sales and margin.
  • Manage reconciliation between bottom-up plans and top-down targets.
  • Collaborate with Merchants to manage product life-cycle.
  • Support Planning Leadership to recommend profitable inventory decisions and take on additional tasks as needed.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis to increase line profitability—monetize new opportunities and identify risks.
  • Perform analysis of seasons' financial and assortment performance to develop next season's inventory plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of working experience in a similar role (preferably in a retail environment).

Preferred Skills:

  • Technical proficiency with computer software tools and the ability to learn new ones quickly (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SAS).
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving capabilities including the ability to quickly identify and communicate implications from consumer, internal, and marketplace information.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced English Level.
