Job Purpose
This role is responsible for providing leadership and direction to suppliers to ensure compliance with GKN's Supplier Standards, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance process requirements, and other relevant quality systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers meet the required quality standards, and that KPIs are measured and managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily interaction with local suppliers to ensure compliance with GKN's Supplier Standards
- Management of local supplier relationships to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- Investigation and containment of supplier-related complaints
- Leadership of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Value Added Engineering (VAVE) activities
- Change management and production trial completion
- Collaboration with the Supplier Quality community to drive continuous improvement and problem-solving

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality with an international automotive environment
- Master's degree or equivalent level desirable
- English proficiency
- Visa and passport requirements

Desirable Skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Formal problem-solving skills (5WHYs, 8D, fishbone, PPS, etc)
- Experience with core quality tools, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), APQP, and PPAP
- University degree in a technical field or equivalent
- Ability to develop own performance, focusing on speed and efficiency
- Continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset

Competencies
- Practical problem-solving skills
- Lean principles, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma training
- Understanding of GKN driveline products and processes
- Ability to manage own time and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving, flexibility, and synergy
- APQP process knowledge
- Ability to communicate at all levels (shop floor to boardroom)
- Competence in auditing (internal/external)
- Gauge, design, and tolerancing (GDT) knowledge
- Familiarity with GKN standards
