About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Clarios. As a key member of our Plant Operations team, you will be responsible for efficiently executing the procure-to-pay process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services to meet our plant's operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, qualify, contract, onboard, and develop new vendors/suppliers to meet our operational needs.
  • Sourcing and Negotiation: Source, negotiate, and buy goods, materials, and services to meet our plant's operational requirements.
  • Purchase Order Management: Create and manage purchase order systems, alerts for order fulfillment, and invoice generation.
  • Relationship Management: Manage vendor/supplier relationships and resolve any unforeseen problems related to operations, purchasing, or quality/performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure a compliant procurement process execution.
How You Will Succeed
  • Negotiation and Communication: Negotiate pricing on services and MRO supplies, availability, and timely delivery; locate alternative vendors; and manage released orders.
  • Sourcing and Procurement: Conduct assigned sourcing activities using best practices to meet customers' quality and delivery requirements at reasonable prices.
  • Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Work with suppliers and internal departments to resolve potential disruptions promptly and ensure a continuous and secure supply of material.
  • Performance Evaluation: Track, measure, report, and evaluate vendors/suppliers performance.
  • Accounting and Finance: Work with the accounting team to resolve any missed or late payments.
  • Communication and Reporting: Respond to internal and external requests for information and guidance; communicate timeline and constraints accurately to all involved in the purchasing and supply chain process.
Requirements
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess the presence and communication skills to represent procurement's function.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Solve problems by building a plan of action and facilitating multidisciplinary teams to answer operational questions.
  • Influencing and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with all plant departments and give plant managers confidence to make informed decisions.
  • Value Prioritization: Effectively choose where to spend time for greater impact/return.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, synthesize, and simplify disparate data points to identify and communicate unique opportunities.
  • Initiative and Leadership: Take timely initiative on assigned projects and demonstrate personal initiative by setting and achieving goals.
  • Plant Operations Knowledge: Have a strong understanding of plant operations and be able to constructively problem-solve in a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Experience and Education: Three to seven years of minimum experience in purchasing roles; Bachelor's Degree in engineering, supply chain, finance, or equivalent required or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft suite; advanced MRP/ERP knowledge.
