Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, as well as monitoring their vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Help patients with feeding, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families, listening to their concerns and offering reassurance.
  • Assist nursing staff with medical procedures, such as wound care, catheterization, and specimen collection.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including keeping patient rooms tidy and ensuring equipment is properly sanitized.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic health records.
  • Follow all facility policies and procedures, including infection control protocols and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain CNA certification and stay current on best practices in patient care.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassion and empathy for patients and their families.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients safely.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting patient information.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

Work primarily takes place in healthcare facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities. May be exposed to infectious diseases and unpleasant sights, smells, and sounds. Requires frequent interaction with patients who may be in pain or distress.
