Job Description

The Data Analyst Consultant role at Urban Science is a key position that supports the delivery of high-quality client services. This role requires strong technical and analytical skills to execute projects and assignments accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver client-requested reports, deliverables, and projects on time, adhering to client specifications.
  • Manage client databases using proprietary software, ensuring accurate and high-quality data.
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients, developing relationships to effectively respond to their requests and inquiries.
  • Aquire and maintain in-depth understanding of client data for assigned projects to create high-quality deliverables.
  • Ensure accurate and high-quality data is utilized on assigned projects.
  • Perform application coding and testing functions associated with custom client software development.
  • Track, process, analyze, and verify data to improve accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain Urban Science internal software systems using technical skills.
  • Attend project meetings to document notes and stay updated on project deliverables.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure software installation, setup, and functioning meet quality standards.
  • Adhere to quality control standards for both Urban Science and client organizations.
  • Coordinate with individuals or teams to complete analyses, tasks, and projects on time and with high quality.
  • Proactively communicate with management to provide updates and report issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively work with manager to implement solutions to improve NPS (client satisfaction).
  • Support and participate in required Urban Science training programs to achieve development objectives.
  • Work with manager to complete annual goal setting and performance review.

  • MS Office: Demonstrated knowledge of MS Excel for charting and graphing data, writing formulas, utilizing functions, filtering, sorting, and formatting data; intermediate knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Technical/Software: Must have demonstrated programming proficiency at the minimum requirement for the role (programming proficiency varies by role and may not be required in certain roles); typical programming languages used may include .NET, VBA, C#, SQL, Java, HTML, SSIS, and Open Source.
  • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Sales & Business Development: Ability to identify potential new opportunities from clients and proactively communicate those opportunities to management.
Education and Experience

An individual must hold a university degree, preferably in a technical field such as engineering, applied math, statistics, applied science, information systems, operations research, etc., from an accredited college or university, or equivalent foreign institution. A minimum of 2 years related work experience is also required.
