About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Direct Buyer to join our Global Procurement team at ALSTOM Gruppe. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating procurement operations for direct materials and services across multiple sites and countries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validates purchase requisitions completeness in coordination with project teams
- Conducts Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and prepares and launches Request For Quotation with suppliers using standard tools
- Vendor selection, evaluation, negotiation of contract, and business case preparation and follow DOA approval flow
- Creates and manages purchase orders and amendments
- Supports preparation of supplier negotiations and creates monthly reports on supplier performance and procurement KPIs
Requirements:
- Engineering degree (BE/B Tech) or similar complemented by a demonstrated track record
- Procurement and supply chain education/trainings/certificates
- 3-5 years of experience in direct procurement in the industry sector
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, comprehensive knowledge of commodities, and good knowledge of raw material price scenarios, machinery, and labor rates
- Knowledgeable of SAP systems, logistics & warehouse management rules, and fluent English
