Job Overview

As a Materials Coordinator at Acuity Brands, you will be tasked with evaluating the supply strategy and aligning it with actual procurement orders to identify the materials that require requisitioning through our Oracle system. Your role is crucial in interpreting the supply strategy to accurately predict material needs, ensuring that both production and customer demands are fulfilled. Furthermore, you will contribute significantly to optimizing inventory levels, maintaining an effective equilibrium between supply and demand to prevent both surplus and shortages of materials. Your expertise in Oracle will be essential for efficiently managing the requisition process and keeping precise inventory records. Your efforts will have a direct influence on the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our material procurement and inventory management operations.

Key Responsibilities Submit material requisitions based on supply strategy data. Keep Kanban loops updated using standard deviation Kanban formulas. Manage MRP/KB items as required. Analyze supply strategy material requests and assess data related to material usage and inventory levels. Create internal orders and oversee delivery processes. Plan categories (MRP/KB/DSY) and maintain inter-divisional sourcing parameters. Make informed decisions regarding material requisitions based on supply strategy. Monitor material receiving holds (quarantine) for internal orders. Manage phase-in and phase-out processes, including engineering changes. Oversee product introductions, transfers, and engineering change orders (ECOs). Contribute to inventory reduction initiatives. Administer installed rack capacity. Maintain inventory levels within a healthy range. Required Skills, Education, and Experience Strong procurement and planning knowledge. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles. Understanding of Kanban and MRP systems. Knowledge of supply chain logistics, including import and export processes. Proven execution capabilities. Excellent communication skills. Ability to optimize inventory while ensuring service levels. Proficient in data maintenance practices. Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field. Experience: 3 to 5 years in a relevant role. Physical Requirements

This position involves sedentary work, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work typically involves sitting most of the time, with walking or standing required only occasionally, while meeting all other sedentary criteria.
