Accounting Role DescriptionThe ideal candidate will be the owner of all accounting, tax, and treasury activities for a manufacturing site, ensuring financial integrity and compliance with US GAAP and Mexico GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley regulation, local laws, and other relevant regulations. This role will safeguard our company's assets and support cash and profit generation with a strong partnership with site operation, business unit, accounting, and cost accounting shared services, and other functional management to support our Company goals.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise tax, treasury, and accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, cash, and bank, inventory, fixed assets, direct, and indirect taxes.
- Proactively handle inventory risks. Work to improve the company's working capital.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems and processes in accordance with company procedures and policies. Ensure accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data according to US GAAP and Mexican GAAP, in compliance with local statutory requirements.
- Develop and maintain a sound system of internal controls for SOX 404 compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and transfer pricing documentation. Recommend ways to implement tax-effective practices while in compliance with local tax laws and regulations. Review transfer price decisions and any intercompany cross-charges and royalty arrangements.
- Work with BU Finance to develop annual operation budgets. Manage and direct the compilation of financial analysis on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc basis. Review actual performance against the budget and prior period results. Present and review monthly financial results and quarterly balance sheet analysis. Alert senior executive management team with any potential financial exposure.
- Represent the local company externally on all finance-related matters. Act as a liaison with government, internal, and external auditors, and financial institutions.
- Lead a team of finance employees. Develop staffing plans and spending budgets. Set annual performance objectives and monitor their performance. Establish schedules for financial projects and prioritize workloads. Coach and develop people.
- Keep abreast with the latest technical, accounting, and other regulatory updates. Assess their business impact and implement solutions for the best interest of the company.
- Work with the local Import/Export Department to ensure that efficient and effective techniques are in place in accordance with company policies and U.S., Mexico, and international laws.
- Ensure vital resources are available to maintain and improve the EHS Management System.
