This IT Operations Manager role reports directly to the Head of People Operations and plays a critical part in Directive's success.

The successful candidate will oversee our system and organizational controls, ensuring security compliance, procuring and managing computer hardware inventory, granting software access, and resolving user issues.

Responsibilities:

- Procure, ship, and dispose of company-owned computer hardware securely
- Utilize MDM software (Jamf and Intune) to manage company assets effectively
- Troubleshoot Windows and MacOS user issues efficiently
- Manage employee software access (onboarding and offboarding) and troubleshoot related issues
- Regularly evaluate IT systems to ensure they meet business demands
- Maintain security compliance by adhering to company policies
- Educate coworkers on security best practices and compliance
- Resolve all IT-related issues for employees
- Complete security questionnaires provided by customers and vendors
- Support daily operations of remote computer inventory
- Analyze departmental needs, identify vulnerabilities, and optimize productivity and efficiency
- Ensure network components work seamlessly to meet business requirements
- Stay updated on new features and competitor solutions
- Continuously analyze processes, technologies, and vendors for areas of improvement
- Prepare cost-benefit analyses for necessary upgrades and monitor vendors' performance
- Train employees to use software and hardware; provide technical support when needed
- Develop and execute disaster recovery plans and maintain data backups

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with SOC 2 Type 2 and/or ISO 27001 is preferred
  • Experience managing computer inventory in a remote-first environment
  • Professional certification (e.g., CCNS, CISSP, MCSE)
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively and manages multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to remain stationary for extended periods and observe/interpret written and verbal communication

  • A competitive estimated salary range: $90,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience and location

Work Environment Requirements:

As a remote-first company, you'll have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US, with options to enjoy our state-of-the-art offices in Irvine, California. For some positions, we accommodate global opportunities in Canada, the UK, and Australia. You must have established and current work authorization and reside permanently in that country. This role operates 100% virtually from your home office, utilizing virtual meetings and Slack for collaboration. A laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools are required.
