Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to join our team at ESAB Mexico Services SA de CV. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of inventory
- Coordinate with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to optimize procurement processes
- Process purchase requisitions, change orders, and requests for quotes to suppliers
- Manage procurement business system data and integrity, including bill of materials and parts/commodities numbers
- Participate in maximizing procurement team's performance, including quote table maintenance and supplier database information
- Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities
- Monitor and negotiate subcontracts to ensure highest quality at best value
- Develop new supply sources and recommend cost-saving proposals
- Collaborate with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues
- Work with management to address commodity management, including procurement support and market trends assessment
Requirements
- Domestic or global expertise in assigned commodities
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or a related field
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
