About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud DevOps Senior Engineer to join our team at Takeda's Innovation Capability Center in Mexico City. As a key member of our technical team, you will play a critical role in driving our digital transformation journey and contributing to the development of innovative solutions that improve the lives of millions of patients around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Work closely with business, product development, and infrastructure teams to drive our future state strategy and manage short change cycles.
  2. Infrastructure Design and Deployment: Design, build, and deploy complex, forward-looking infrastructure as code to support the Takeda Enterprise Cloud Platform and Applications deployed onto the Takeda Enterprise Cloud.
  3. Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including microservices architecture, design patterns, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  4. Cloud-First Solutions: Contribute to Takeda's mission by leading the development and adoption of cloud-first solutions that deliver business outcomes and drive innovation.
  5. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor for vulnerabilities and troubleshoot performance issues by implementing alert strategies for production environments.
  6. Environment Provisioning: Provision AWS environments using infrastructure-as-code and partner with development teams to design a robust deployment and patching strategy.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product leads, scrum master, business customers to define feature specifications and build the next generation of digital health solutions.
  8. Infrastructure Collaboration: Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams to provision environments, configure services, and perform capacity planning.
  9. Support and Documentation: Participate in support rotation, respond to system health alerts, and triage issues alongside helpdesk, managed services, and cloud ops teams. Develop and maintain application documentation according to Takeda Quality Systems and Software Development Life Cycle standards and procedures.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of experience spanning multiple IT disciplines, including systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, and integration.
  3. Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, IAM, EC2, LBs, AWS Native CI/CD Services, S3).
  4. Infrastructure as Code: Highly proficient in provisioning AWS resources using infrastructure as a code (IaC) with hands-on experience developing Cloud Formation Templates or Terraform.
  5. System Level Scripting: Hands-on experience in system level scripting using BASH and/or PowerShell.
  6. Programming Skills: Hands-on programming skills in one or more high-level languages like Python, Golang, Java.
  7. CI/CD Integrations: Proficient in handling CI/CD integrations with GitHub, GitHub Actions or equivalent and deploying infrastructure and applications on AWS.
  8. DevOps Concepts: Fluency with modern DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipeline processes.
  9. Docker and Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker containers and other orchestration tools/services (AWS Fargate, EKS, Redhat Openshift).
  10. Operating System Debugging: Good operating system level debugging skills.
  11. Communication and Business Acumen: Excellent oral and written communication skills, business acumen, and enterprise knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Container-Enabled Microservices: Familiarity with container-enabled microservices and orchestration.
  2. System and Server Administration: Familiarity with system and server administration (Active Directory, Linux, Windows, DNS).
  3. Terraform, Packer, and Ansible: Familiarity with Terraform, Packer, and Ansible.
  4. AWS Certification: AWS certification.
