About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Customer Linking and Identity Platform team in Mexico City or remotely. You will design, implement, and take ownership of mission-critical data pipelines and data products that support AI, Marketing, and Data Science teams in their effort to improve Zillow's products for customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain large-scale data engineering solutions using modern technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, and Airflow.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to scope and deliver tools ensuring ease of system use.
  • Review specifications, designs, and code changes to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software.
  • Write high-quality code, refactor, and optimize code for better performance and readability.
  • Integrate new frameworks, libraries, and technologies into the codebase.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues quickly, logging metrics and alerting stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure consistency and maintainability of existing applications adhering to standards and procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.
About You

To succeed in this role, you should have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, 5+ years of experience with building and maintaining data-intensive applications, and a strong background in Java or Python. Experience with modern data technologies, complex software systems, and cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) is also essential. Additionally, you should be passionate about collaborating across organizational boundaries and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is around $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This figure includes a competitive base salary and benefits package, including equity awards based on performance and location. The role has been categorized as a teleworker position, allowing you to work from a physical location of your choice in Mexico.
