Vantive: A New Company Built On Our Legacy

Baxter is on a journey to separate our ~$5B Kidney Care segment into a standalone company. Vantive* will build on our nearly 70-year legacy in acute therapies and home and in-center dialysis to provide best-in-class care to the people we serve. *Completion of the proposed separation of Kidney Care from Baxter into a standalone company (to be named Vantive) remains subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and support the building of valuable, feasible, viable, and usable products that meet customer needs over the lifecycle of the product.
  • Define the product roadmap for the assigned products.
  • Work directly with customers and Product Managers (PMs) to understand and communicate their needs.
  • Closely work with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs), other IT customers and SMEs from different areas to define how technology can enable business processes, drive business value and KPI improvement.
  • Responsible for setting plans and goals for their product and for their teams, constantly presenting and building consensus to meet the established outcomes, with PMs and BRMs.
  • Responsible for planning how the product will be implemented to improve its value.
  • Accountable and sometimes responsible for prototypes, flow diagrams, use case documents, story maps, and mockups to help visualize and describe the feature of the product.
  • Identify potential technology options and complete IT cost assessments with support for IT architecture resources as needed.
  • Define features and continuously require prioritization with the PM to identify the right initiatives to focus on and add to the product roadmap to ensure there is a constant flow of value creation.
  • Accountable for the delivery of features as prioritized by the PM with constant advisement on value versus effort and fit to the roadmap.
  • Play a lead role in process governance with the goal to harmonize processes and the underlying system solution whenever possible.
  • Innovate through research and prototyping and drive the development and adoption of next generation technologies and business practices.
  • Work with the technical architects and engineers to define technical solutions and enablers in line with functional and non-functional requirements and the process flows defined.
  • Integrate upcoming enabler work such as architecture, data privacy, security, regulatory and compliance into the backlog with the PM.
  • Leverage survey results, interviews with users and data/analytics and insights to continuously improve and scale their products and employ product strategies.
  • Participate in team demos and retrospectives.
  • Report progress and status in terms of business and customer outcomes.
  • Support internal change management teams and external marketing teams to drive adoption and deliver products to market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with greater than 5 years of experience in digital/technical product ownership.
  • Prior experience with commercial products such as customer relationship management, marketing, quoting/contracting and pricing.
  • Technical aptitude to convey and collaborate around the development of the desired functionality particularly with cloud applications.
  • Prior experience or ability to learn technical development architecture and configuration principles.
  • Understanding the SAFe (Agile at scale) approach is a plus.
  • Skills in prototyping and rapid ideation/discovery.
  • Ability to work with multiple geographies in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience in working in regulated environments (i.e. privacy/compliance).
  • Design thinking awareness and prior usage strongly preferred.
  • Proven digital/technical skills foundation.
  • Ability to influence and build consensus with other IT teams and global senior leadership.
