Job Summary

Citi is seeking a highly skilled Senior Credit Underwriter to join our team. As a Senior Credit Underwriter, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating commercial credit requests to ensure sound credit decisions and compliance with internal procedures and credit risk policy guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate commercial credit requests to determine creditworthiness and risk
  • Prepare detailed written credit summaries and financial analyses to support credit decisions
  • Perform industry and geographical research to assess credit risk and due diligence
  • Maintain a solid understanding of Citi's products and services, as well as regulatory policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with management team to identify process improvements and efficiencies to reduce costs and improve customer service levels
  • Provide backup support to Credit Underwriting Group Manager and mentor lower-level Credit Officers as needed

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of previous credit authority experience, preferably in a regulatory and compliance policy environment
  • Proven analytical skills, including the ability to read and assess individual and company financial statements, cash flow, industry/competitive analysis, and projections
  • Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, attention to detail, and ability to complete assignments within required deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective inter-personal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Thorough problem recognition and resolution skills
  • Ability to deal with complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact

Education

Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

Language

English - Advanced
