Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Readiness Specialist to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As a key member of our launch team, you will be responsible for ensuring supply chain readiness to support mass production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct launch readiness reviews/audits with suppliers for new model programs, including documentation of findings and analysis in our supplier readiness system.
  • Lead the evaluation of suppliers for Ford Plants' capacity uplifts and shift additions.
  • Rate supplier readiness for each program and ensure 100% audits are completed 30 days prior to MP1 build.
  • Perform risk analysis and act on findings within the technical teams and forums for new, critical, or greenfield/brownfield suppliers.
  • Collaborate with supplier technical assistance and purchasing to ensure supplier noncompliance issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Provide onsite support, assistance, education, and training for distressed suppliers.
  • Root cause analysis to understand and work with suppliers to improve delivery performance.
  • Act as the lead for Ford supplier engagement teams.
  • Support current production in emergency situations with onsite reviews and/or extended onsite support.
  • Work with supplier technical assistance and purchasing on distressed suppliers' performance improvement.
  • Identify and implement areas for cost improvement during supplier on-site reviews.
  • Address any issues and improvements to our IT systems and global supplier manufacturing readiness team.
  • Establish work and process standards and expectations for assigned suppliers.
  • Travel to suppliers and plant locations as needed.
  • Collaborate with purchasing on sourcing and resourcing actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in OEM or Tier 1 company, with a preference for the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge and deep understanding of Ford MP&L supply chain operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Ford MP&L systems, including CMMS, Super G, GCP, MCPV, etc.
  • New supplier evaluation and supplier development.
  • Supplier delivery performance monitoring and improvement.
  • Critical/constraint supplier management.
  • Proven track record in supply chain operations, including inbound flows, packaging, outbound flows, diversity, demand and supply planning, in-plant logistics operations, and warehouse management.
  • Well-versed in MS Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in large data handling and management.
Competencies and Skills
  • Strong data analytical skills to gather data from multiple sources, identify root causes, trends, and insights, and recommend operational improvements on supplier delivery performance.
  • Strong storytelling capabilities with data to enable data-driven decision making.
