Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance to SAP Basis Administrators and Support Analysts.
- Oversee the maintenance of all SAP Systems and associated software, including upgrades and both preventative and corrective maintenance, adhering to the change management process within scheduled maintenance windows.
- Administer the configuration of SAP Systems and services across all enterprise data centers.
- Monitor vendor support facilities for software updates, recommending and implementing necessary maintenance to ensure systems remain current and compliant with vendor support requirements.
- Respond promptly to customer expectations with a sense of urgency.
- Ensure service continuity by executing backup and recovery processes to support recovery from hardware and application failures.
- Maintain Disaster Recovery plans, procedures, and test scenarios, participating in regular disaster recovery rehearsals.
- Adhere to SOX procedures, ensuring compliance with SOX policies and gathering evidence for audits.
- Implement security policies on the SAP and Database platforms as directed by the IT Security team.
- Collaborate effectively with individuals at various levels within and outside the organization to achieve business objectives.
- Provide second-level incident and problem management, taking responsibility for resolution and root cause analysis of complex hardware and software issues within Operating Level Agreements.
- Monitor and assess system performance, performing tuning functions to optimize efficiency and throughput.
- Evaluate system resource utilization and support capacity planning by capturing data, analyzing trends, and making recommendations for hardware adjustments.
- Participate in the planning and execution of server workload migrations and consolidations in collaboration with the Project Engineering Team.
- Interface and coordinate with Global Infrastructure Architecture, Project Engineering, Application Managed Services, and Business teams.
- Stay informed about the latest developments affecting the SAP Basis Platform, making recommendations to enhance efficiency, throughput, capabilities, and capacity.
- Provide comprehensive technical documentation to effectively communicate procedures and developments to other IT personnel.
- Exhibit a strong customer service orientation and work ethic.
- Adhere to the company's ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with the SAP Basis platform (ABAP and JAVA).
- 3 to 5 years of experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- 3 to 5 years of experience with HANA Database; familiarity with MSSQL, Sybase, or Oracle is advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals across various skills, backgrounds, departments, and management levels.
- Willingness to provide off-hours on-call support.
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English.
- Strong analytical skills necessary for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Experience with Linux and Windows platforms, as well as Azure or Google Cloud platforms, is highly desirable.
