About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Associate to join our team at WeWork in Mexico City. As a key member of our Tax function, you will work closely with our Tax Manager to oversee the monthly consulting and compliance process, providing tax advisory services to our business. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure timely and legally compliant Income tax and VAT filings. In addition, you will support our business from an advisory perspective, analyzing and implementing local VAT requirements in collaboration with other functions, including technology, supply chain, construction, shared services, legal, finance, and commercial. You will work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities and driving results through data analysis. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, strong analytical skills, and a quick learning ability. Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and review the monthly tax compliance process for Mexico.
• Liaise with finance/shared services to address issues identified during the compliance process.
• Assist with managing VAT audits/enquiries before tax authorities or external auditors.
• Drive continuous improvements in the Tax return compliance process through system data analysis and streamlined processes.
• Monitor new service offerings/business units and analyze their VAT implications.
• Assist in VAT due diligence of new business acquisitions and ensure compliance post-acquisition.
• Review and understand VAT implications of contracts, advising Legal on required VAT wording.
• Work with Supply Chain to ensure transactions remain tax compliant and minimize tax costs.
• Answer VAT questions from internal functions and customers.
• Develop training material for key functions within the business.
• Liaise with third-party advisors as required.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Tax, finance, accounting, or economics preferred.
• 3+ years of tax experience.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly motivated and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of Workday is a plus.
