Key Responsibilities- Supplier Management
- Develop and implement supplier quality systems, including supplier manuals, work instructions, and formal assessments.
- Monitor and control supplier performance, including scrap rates and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Quality Improvement
- Lead and conduct supplier assessments to qualify new suppliers or evaluate existing ones.
- Develop and implement quality improvement processes, including PPAP and quality improvement initiatives.
- Work with suppliers to improve quality and reduce total cost per part.
- Supply Chain Collaboration
- Collaborate with supply chain management to identify strategic suppliers and monitor their performance.
- Work with suppliers to develop and implement quality targets and plans.
- Support and assist suppliers to improve quality and reduce total cost per part.
- Communication and Training
- Represent the company to external parties, including customers and suppliers.
- Assist with the development and mentoring of other Supplier Quality Engineers and Quality Engineering personnel.
- Education
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Technology Discipline.
- Experience
- 3-5 years of previous experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in a supplier quality role.
- Skills
- Experience in the field of Electrical Utilities or electrical component manufacturing.
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including electronics, metal stamping & forming, plastics & rubber molding, and machining.
- Experience working with and auditing suppliers, with ASQ or RAB certification preferred.
- Strong ability to draft recommendations via formal presentations and documentation.
- Experience with Quality Systems, such as APQP, PPAP, and ISO 9001:2000.
- Technical Knowledge
- Experience with 6 sigma and lean manufacturing/lean enterprise tools.
- Soft Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
