About the Role:
The successful candidate will have a strong background in design, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work across multiple industries. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple simultaneous live projects, managing a team of designers, and ensuring that all design collateral produced by the team is faithful to the client's brand guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culture of Excellence:
- Lead and motivate the creative team to strive for excellence in performance.
- Monitor the quality of design projects and provide feedback to team members.
- Oversee the timely delivery of all jobs/projects, ensuring client requirements and expectations are met.
- Investigate and implement innovative ways to deliver design services, maximizing efficiency and productivity.
- Manage team meetings, scheduling, and work reviews.
- Coordinate knowledge sharing and learning within the team and across the organization.
- Business Development:
- Attend client meetings, present work, and discuss needs and opportunities.
- Assign creative leads and develop accounts and teams.
- Stay up-to-date with global creative trends.
- Workflow:
- Work with the workflow/studio manager to allocate design talent effectively.
- Provide support to meet client demands and cover flexible working, holiday, and sick leave requirements.
- Brand Guardianship:
- Act as brand guardian to ensure all design collateral is faithful to the client's brand guidelines.
- Customer Centricity:
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality client service.
- People Management & Development:
- Manage, train, and mentor staff, overseeing their professional development.
- Ensure accurate time recording by staff members.
Requirements:
- First-class design expertise, creativity, and thought leadership.
- Commercial acumen and leadership gravitas.
- Hands-on experience with a strong focus on digital design.
- Experience directing complex, commercial design projects involving senior stakeholders and interdisciplinary creative teams.
- Exceptional pure graphic design and typography skills.
- Deep technical design skills in one or more discipline.
- Proven ability to communicate and liaise with all levels in the business.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to effectively manage creative teams.
- Director-level written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Proficiency in Adobe CC, Microsoft Office, and other related software.
- Driven, proactive, helpful, and enthusiastic team player.
